Mr.T.V.Rao who joined IIRM to be in charge of the Risk Management Programme (IPGDRM) is a postgraduate in Commerce (M.Com) from Osmania University and was an awardee of two gold medals (for highest aggregate marks being University topper, and highest marks in advanced accounting). He is a CAIIB (Indian Institute of Bankers) and ACIOBS-UK(Chartered Institute of Bankers, Scotland – UK). He attended several Training programmes of NIBM, Bankers Training College, Mumbai, IIM, Ahmedabad etc. on Banking, International Finance and Management.
He has over 30 years of experience in Financial Markets, most of it at Indian and Foreign Banks. He joined Indian Bank, a major Public Sector Bank as Executive Trainee and worked his way through till he became Regional Manager and posted to Colombo. Having resigned from Indian Bank after a putting in 14 years of service, he joined Capital Trust Ltd. Delhi engaged in Management Consulting services to foreign Banks and was advisor to Berliner Bank, West Germany, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Gruppo Nordest Italy, Banqworms, Paris etc. He worked for State Bank of Mauritius for 7 years (1996-2003) of which 4 years were as CEO and Country Head for India. He briefly worked in Santa Clara, US for IT Co. on Banking Solutions.
With rich domain knowledge, he took to teaching and training. He is a visiting faculty to several Management and Banking training Colleges. His areas of specialization are Foreign Exchange, Treasury and Risk Management. He is on the panel of examiners of Indian Institute of Bankers on the subject. He was Programme Director for Academy of Corporate Governance on ACGs programme for Bangladesh Bank on Internal Control and Compliance sponsored by SEDF an affiliate of IFC-World Bank Group. He was Chairman of several Committees like ALCO, Risk Management, Credit, etc. of Banks and a member of the Committee of Economists of Indian Banks’ Association. He is a frequent speaker on Risk Management, Banking Supervision, Corporate Governance and Compliance at various Seminars and conferences and contributed several articles on these subjects.
