Dear Sir,
I write this as a personal note
of heartfelt gratitude. I had done my IPGDRM in the
2008-09 batch of IIRM and presently working for
ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd. into which I was campus
recruited. It gives me immense pleasure in sharing
good news about my progress in the insurance
industry. Having joined in the job on April 2009 as
a Customer Service Manager at the organisation’s
Head Office at Mumbai I have been elevated to a
higher responsibility as a Product Manager for
Weather insurance products on June 2009. The
knowledge about risk management which I had gathered
at IIRM had helped me move into various profiles
including claims handling, operations, process
control, underwriting and presently product design
across weather, cattle and livestock products in
short span of 3 months. Now I can handle any of
these processes of insurance activity with
confidence. Presently as a Product Manager I design
the risk acceptance strategy – Product, for the
company in the weather portfolio. The first product
that I had designed for Solapur District of
Maharashtra has been approved and launched in the
market.
In addition to this, my report
to the IRDA chairman Mr. J. Harinarayan at the end
of my internship there at IRDA has been published as
an article in July 2009 edition of the IRDA Journal.
As a Defence product and a
Mechanical Engineer who missed the Civil Services
Examination’s final stage by a narrow margin of
marks I was frustrated and looking for opportunities
to prove my mettle. Between such an excruciating
defeat and the monstrous global economic slowdown
IIRM and its Risk Management course has unlocked the
door into the world of opportunities. I owe much
more than these words to IIRM and its faculties in
as much as I do for the IRDA and the ICICI.
