Mr. NVP Sharma graduated in science with subjects Physics (principal), Chemistry and Mathematics (subsidiaries) during the year 1959 from Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada. Subsequently he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune in the year 1964. He completed his three year part time Diploma in Industrial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He also cleared the Associate Examination in Fire Branch of Insurance Institute of India.

He commenced his working career with Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, Mumbai as Graduate Engineer Trainee. He worked there after in Glaxo Laboratories (India) Ltd and Vickers Sperry of India Ltd. Mr. Sharma left the employment domain in 1982 as Deputy General Manager from Indo Burma Petroleum Co. Ltd, Mumbai, a Govt. of India Enterprise.

Mr. Sharma shifted to Hyderabad in 1982 and has ever since been practising as an independent Insurance Surveyor and loss assessor. To date he has handled around 1400 claims in Fire, Marine, Engineering, and Loss of Profits classes of General Insurance business. During this period he has attended and conducted several seminars and workshops pertaining to General Insurance.

While in Mumbai, after his graduation from JBIMS he was a part time faculty at that institute for a few years. At Hyderabad, he was also coaching and training students for appearing in Licentiate and Associate Examination in Fire Branch of the Insurance Institute of India.

Presently Mr. Sharma is a Faculty Member in General Insurance at Institute of Insurance and Risk Management, Hyderabad.
