Enrollment Procedure:
-
Only Graduates of any
discipline with a First Class pass (an overall 60% of pass
marks) and with Mathematics or Statistics as main subject
will be allowed to apply. The medium of instruction at
graduate level must be in English. Where a candidate fails
to secure an aggregate of minimum marks of 60% in
graduation level, my be considered for enrollment process
if he / she secured the said aggregate of 60% or more
marks in the Post Graduate examinations. The other
condition of writing the Entrance Examination will remain
unaltered as also the qualifying criteria for enrollment
with Institute of Actuaries of India, Mumbai.

IIRM will exercise care in
selecting its students so as to be eligible to become
student members of the
Institute of Actuaries of
India as per the eligibility conditions of Institute of
Actuaries of India, Mumbai (IAI) Candidate must complete
registering as a student member of IAI, Mumbai, prior to
commencement of classes and provide proof of enrollment.

This Course is open for
Overseas Candidates also. The fee structure to the
Overseas candidates are give separately at the end of the
Prospectus.

The Applicants for the
Course can be either individuals on their own behalf or
candidates sponsored by their Employers / Companies / Organizations.

All applicants will be
selected as students through an entrance test on (i)
English (in three parts : Precis Writing, Comprehension
and Composition, to test the candidates in their knowledge
of grammar, and other skills in English) and (ii)
Mathematics (Algebra, Calculus and Statistics of Graduate
Standard). These entrance examinations will be of
objective/descriptive type and are held at Hyderabad on
18th May 2008 as notified in our website . It will be
in two Papers, one in Mathematics (3 Hrs) and the other in
English covering précis writing etc of 1 ½ hour
duration. Successful candidates must appear before a
selection committee prior to granting admission.

Students who are already
‘mid-way through’ examinations conducted by any reputed
actuarial professional bodies, national and international,
can also apply for enrolment as students at IIRM. These
Students must necessarily have appeared for at least one
paper of those examinations of the mentioned professional
courses and must provide necessary proof along with the
application.

IIRM offers special
enrollment of students for specific modules covering
subjects in which the applicants are interested. This will
facilitate applicants to choose the subjects, which they
want to appear for the IAI examinations, instead of going
through the entire course of 4 semesters. These Students
must necessarily have appeared for at least one paper of
the IAI examinations.

The fees may be charged for
such partial enrollments at differential scale, as a
special module fees. Such students shall pay the
prescribed fees for the full module covering the 2
subjects of that module, even if they are interested in
one paper only of the said module.

The students may take only
the first year (for subjects CT 1 to CT 8), on payment of
the first year fees in full at the beginning
of the year, and leave the School without enrolling for
the second year at their option. The said option should be
given in writing before the commencement of the second
semester.

However when once a student
enrolls either for the entire 2 year course or for the 1st
year course initially will not be allowed to claim any
refund on partial basis. They cannot leave the course in
the middle and claim for any kind of refund.

Normally , a student cannot
directly enter into the 2nd year of the programme.
Consequent
upon completing the admissions for the Academic Year
2008-2010, the above guide lines are no longer applicable.
Fresh guide lines will be issued in due course for the
admissions for the Academic Year 2009-2011. |
